Home Security for Multiple Houses

Owning more than one house is a dream situation for many people but it is also something which can bring with it a fair few headaches.
One of the biggest concerns which owners of multiple houses have is that of the security for all of them. If keeping one property safe and secure can be a tough task at times then how can you be expected to do it with more of them?
Visible Security
Burglar deterrents are very important when you have properties which are either unoccupied or else let out to tenants who might not look after the security of the place as much as you would. This could mean adding some CCTV cameras in obvious spots or else fitting a burglar alarm which acts as a visual deterrent. A lot of thieves are intelligent enough to keep on looking until they find a property which looks like it won’t cause them many problems to get into, so you can start by putting them off the idea right away.
Remote Monitoring
It is difficult to go and physically check on various properties as often as you would like to, so some sort of remote monitoring system could you be just what you need. With this you can check out the security of all of your properties at the same time on a computer or even on a smartphone. As well as checking out your home security you can also use this sort of system to control the temperature in your houses and keep the utility bills as low as possible when no one is in them.
Fire Safety
You won’t just be worried about burglars if you have houses which aren’t permanently occupied. Another big risk is that a fire breaks out for some reason and with no one there to alter the authorities it gets out of control. A smart move here is to fit the best model of smoke alarms you can find and also to think about getting them added onto a remote monitoring service.
Don’t Leave Them Looking Unoccupied
One of the things which most attract the attention of potential thieves is when a property is obviously empty. If you think about it, this is the perfect situation for someone who wants to get in, steal as many things as possible and then get out without attracting any attention to themselves. By leaving the places in darkness and without any signs of life you will be giving any passing burglars an open invitation pop in and have a look around.
