The International Law Partnership LLP and Giambrone Law LLP, two of the UK industry’s most well known property law firms, have joined forces to provide clients throughout Europe and beyond with legal advice on the areas of corporate and commercial, litigation, property, tax, emigration and wills and probate.

Now called the International Law Partnership (Giambrone Howell) LLP, the new venture will be headed by each of the firm’s long-standing partners, John Howell, Peter Esders and Garbriele Giambrone.

The new firm consists of 85 lawyers, paralegals and supporting staff from 16 different countries and include English, Italian, Spanish, French, Brazilian, Turkish, Portuguese, Arabic, Bulgarian and Russian qualified lawyers.

On signing the deal, the partnership now has three UK offices in London, Manchester and Leeds and various Italian offices in Rome, Turin, Palermo, Puglia and Calabria and a network of offices worldwide.

“People now live, work and have multiple interests in several different countries and as a result require cross border legal advice on a wide range of legal topics, not just for international property purchases, sales and disputes,” explained John Howell, senior partner at The International Law Partnership LLP.

“In joining forces, clients with multiple global interests can access advice from the right experts in one place. The newly created firm will be able to take advantage of The International Law Partnership’s established reputation in the international property industry developed over twenty years in practice and benefit from Giambrone’s specialist Anglo-Italian, corporate, commercial and cross-border litigation expertise,” he added.

Before the merger, the ILP expanded its French legal team in July with the high profile appointment of partner Barbara Heslop and her two assistants from Fox Hayes LLP with the aim of creating the largest specialist French legal team in the UK, while senior partner at Giambrone Law, Claudio Giambrone, left the company to pursue other interests outside international property law.
